TRANSFER ADMISSION
An applicant is considered a transfer student if they
enrolled in a college or university for a regular fall or
spring session after receiving a high school diploma or
an equivalent exam and remain in good standing there.
(Enrolling during the summer following high school
graduation does not qualify the student as a transfer.)
To be admitted to Mizzou as a transfer student,
you must meet the following criteria:
Have a 2.5 GPA on completed college-level credits
AND
Have a grade of C- or better in a transferable
math course (intermediate algebra or higher or
statistics).
- OR -
A grade of C- or better in a transferable English
composition course (English comp 1 or higher).
If you have completed fewer than 24 college-level
credits, you must also meet MU’s freshman test score
admission requirements.
Transfer from a regionally accredited Missouri
or border state college with a 2.0 GPA and either
an associate of arts (AA) degree or the Missouri
CORE 42. General education requirements will be
considered fulfilled.

As a full-time UM System student in good standing, you
meet general transfer admission requirements to Mizzou
if you:
have at least a 2.0 GPA and at least 24 college-
level transferable credits
- OR -

REQUIREMENTS
Admission to Mizzou does not guarantee admission to specific programs
other than through signed articulation agreements. An articulation agreement
identifies community college and MU coursework that will satisfy degree
requirements for a specific academic program at MU.

TIGER PATHWAYS
Tiger Pathways is a dual-enrollment bridge program
between Moberly Area Community College (MACC) and
Mizzou. Students who apply for freshman admission
and are denied, and have a 17 ACT or 2.5 HS GPA are
eligible. While enrolled in this program, students are
degree-seeking at MACC and non-degree seeking at
Mizzou. Tiger Pathways students work collaboratively with
academic advisers, faculty and sta at both campuses to
ensure academic success. Enrollment in Tiger Pathways
is limited and applicants will be considered until the
program reaches capacity. All scholarships, federal
financial and state aid (including A+) is reviewed and
administered through MACC’s Financial Aid Oce. Tiger
Pathways students can re-apply to Mizzou to become
a degree seeking student once they meet the transfer
admission requirements shown in this brochure. For more
information, visit mizzou.us/tpw.
TRIAL ADMISSION PROGRAM (TAP)
Missouri residents who are graduating from high school
and have applied for admission but were denied might
be eligible for Mizzou’s Trial Admission Program. Trial
Admission Program participants take six college credit
hours** during the summer session. Courses must be
taken at an accredited Missouri college or university other
than Mizzou. Students who earn grades of C or better
in both courses can enroll on academic probation for
the fall semester. Courses taken as dual credit while in
high school may not be used to meet this requirement.
Interested students submit the TAP Request Form via
their Application Status Page beginning in March.
EXCEPTIONS
Applicants who do not meet our published admission
requirements automatically receive a comprehensive
review that considers the rigor of the curriculum, the
core course GPA* and any extenuating circumstances
mentioned in an accompanying essay or letter of
recommendation. Applications might be subject to
additional review if the applicant’s core GPA is low.
Students who are not regularly admissible to Mizzou by
rank and test score may not make up their deficiencies
through dual credit classes.
Freshman admission does not guarantee admission to
professional programs. Many majors have competitive or
selective admission after the freshman year.
**Including a transferable English composition course and algebra course

admission based upon their core grade point average in required core college-
prep courses in combination with their standardized test scores. Standardized
test scores are not used for admission if applying as test-optional. The core
course GPA is a GPA that MU recalculates with specified courses. It is not the
transcript GPA.
