FOR IMMEDIATE NEWS RELEASE
The 61st Annual Cars for Charities Rod & Custom Car Show
another big success!
Tradition rich show draws people from all over the Midwest
to help raise funds for two Local Wichita charities.
Wichita, Kan. Celebrating their 61st year in 2018, first under the newly changed
name of Cars for Charities Rod & Custom Car Show, held in January at Century II
had another wildly successful show. This year the show raised $110,000 for their
two local charities. Proceeds from the show were distributed equally to Starkey
Foundation and The Arc of Sedgwick County each receiving $55,000 donations as
a result of the show and its fundraising efforts.
Once again, the three-day event had strong attendance with many attendees from
outside of the Wichita city limits. The tradition continued of letting children 11 &
under in Free which once again bolstered the show to a strong family event where
grandparents, parents and children attended together. The show now in the 7th
year under the ownership group, Cars for Charities Co. a 501(c)(3) organization,
continued its large charitable contribution due to strong sponsorship support and
high attendance at this year’s event. “It’s hard to believe it’s been our 7
th
car show
under the Cars for Charities ownership but even more impressive is 61 years of car
shows right here in Wichita, KS. It’s amazing to me the support and interest this
show garners and we’re just thrilled to be able to donate $110,000 to charity this
year” said Tim Devlin, board president, Cars for Charities Co. and owner of Devlin
Rod and Customs in Wichita. The Arc of Sedgwick County and Starkey, Inc are
great organizations and vital to so many people in our community. It’s a great day
that we were able to present those two fabulous local charities with a $55,000
donation to each of them.”
Next year’s event is scheduled for January 18th 20th at Century II in downtown
Wichita, KS.
