MOTORCYCLISTS AND ADDITIONAL OPERATION
TIME PENANG FERRY SERVICE
PENANG, 11 September 2023 - As the provider of Penang Ferry Service, Penang
Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) extends its heartfelt gratitude to all our valued patrons for their
unwavering support. PPSB deeply appreciates our patrons’ loyalty and feedback,
which have allowed us to continuously improve our services.
Throughout this month, PPSB has been diligently monitoring the public's comments
and concerns regarding the Penang ferry services. Your inputs are invaluable to us,
and we are committed to addressing your needs and ensuring a seamless travel
experience for all.
In response to the feedback received, PPSB with joint endorsement from Penang Port
Commission (PPC), Ministry of Transport (MOT), and MMC Corporation Berhad
(MMC) are pleased to announce a special initiative that we believe will provide
convenience and affordability to our ferry patrons. Effective 12 September 2023, PPSB
is offering a 30% discount fare through a discounted season pass for motorcyclists.
This discount will be made available until 30 June 2024.

PPSB, PPC, MOT and MMC understand the importance of synchronising our ferry
services with other modes of transportation in Penang. To better serve our commuters,
the ferry service schedule will now provide an additional trip at 11:00 pm daily from
Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim (PSAH) in Butterworth. This adjustment aligns PPSB’s
ferry service with the KTMB ETS train schedule to arrive at 10:22 pm, ensuring a
seamless and convenient travel experience for all passengers.
PPSB, PPC, MOT and MMC extend their joint commitment towards continuous
improvement of the Penang ferry services. Hopefully, these changes will positively
impact the daily lives of the ferry passengers and reflect our joint dedication to
providing safe, reliable, and convenient transportation options in Penang.
