Founded in 1982, St. Thomas More Catholic High School (STM)
is a comprehensive, four-year, coeducational institution of the
Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana. Begun as a
consolidation of two Catholic high schools, STM has continued
to grow and serves a diverse population of learners from across
the Acadiana region.
All faculty have degrees from accredited universities. Forty-
three percent of the 89 faculty members for 2020 - 2021 have
advanced degrees including two with doctoral degrees. Several
faculty members have received national recognition for their
academic achievements. All are active in professional, civic,
or church organizations.

St. Thomas More Catholic High school produces graduates
with strong Catholic values who see themselves as servants
of God. They are critical thinkers, problem solvers, effective
communicators, and leaders. STM alumni are independent,
civically minded, creative, spirit-lled, and kind. They develop
and contribute their talents to the community. STM implements
a rigorous curriculum, emphasizing the relevance of learning
and a connection to real-world situations. Student achievement
consistently exceeds both state and national averages. Using
state-of-the-art technology, including a 1:1 laptop initiative
and award-winning library resources, students participate in
learning experiences focused on developing essential 21st-
century skills and critical thinking abilities.
