aims at strengthening the understanding of nature- society
interactions and its interface with natural resources, policy
institutions, and community practices

Preamble
The programme enables students to envision and create resource governance systems that
are distributive, pluralistic and regenerative. The curriculum brings together theoretical
insights, policy analysis, and community practices to develop a wholistic understanding of
resource governance; equips students with knowledge and skills to understand and
conceptualize the idea of natural resources in rich and diverse ways.

Anindya Das, batch of 2016-2018, is working as Junior Advisor on a TC project Climate
Adaptation and Finance in Rural India (CAFRI) with NABARD and BIRD, Lucknow. He
also worked for two years as a junior advisor in Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Anupama Nair, batch of 2017-2019, is the Executive Program Coordinator of the Future
Earth GSH South Asia. She worked with the Bengaluru Water Solutions Lab and the
Climate and Energy Policy group at the Divecha Centre for Climate Change, Indian
Institute of Science, in addition to the Regional Office for Future Earth
Abhimanyu Sethi, batch of 2016-2018, is working for The Nudge Institute as District
Manager of Programmes in Jharkhand. He worked for Haryana State Livelihood Mission
as a Young Professional and Project Manager
Shreya Karmakar, batch of 2017-2019, is working as an Associate Consultant - Climate Resilience and
Disaster Risk Reduction at PwC India. She works in the domains of natural resources governance, climate
change, clean energy access, disaster mitigation and urban sustainability in research, project management,
advocacy, fundraising and strategic partnerships. She worked as a research assistant at CDRI also took
responsibility Project Manager - Environment and Climate Change in SwicthOn Foundation
Madhuri Mondal batch of 2016-2018, is working as Senior Programme Officer at Dakshin
Foundation. She also worked as a senior associate at Wildlife Conservation Society. Before
joining Dakshin, she worked with indigenous communities in the Protected Areas of
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
Binoy Chutia, batch of 2015-2017, is a Project Manager at Foundation for Ecological
Security, North-East RC, Guwahati.
Biswa Swaroop Das, batch of 2017-2019, is a Senior Program Associate Dakshin
Foundation. He is involved in mapping of coastal commons in Ganjam, Odisha which was
an action research project aimed at documenting the uses of the coastal and marine
commons by the coastal communities, related traditional ecological knowledge and existing
governance systems.

Project Manager with Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), Rajasthan on the

Athira R. S., batch of 2019-2021, is a National project personnel at FAO, New Delhi. She is
currently working on sustainable agriculture projects. She also volunteers for different
conservation activities of WWF.
Aniket Shaw, batch of 2019-2021, is working as an Associate in C-Quest Capital. He
worked as a Researcher at TERI , New Delhi. He works on carbon finance, land
degradation and related issues.
Uzma Faiz, batch of 2018- 2020, is working as a sociologist in Wildlife Trust of India. She
also worked as a researcher in Foundation For Ecological Security

Apurva Duddu, batch of 2015-2017 is working at Bharti School of Public Policy, Indian
School of Business. She has been actively working on Forest related datasets and currently
is a part of the Forest Governance team. She has played an instrumental role in- Setting up
of Socio-Ecological Monitoring System, Project Monitoring System and CFR as part of
her role at BIPP.

has been writing on a range of contemporary social and economic issues.

Research Assistant at Blavatnk School of Government., University of Oxford. He also
worked at TERI and FES.

She was engaged as a research associate at Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the
Environment (ATREE), Bengaluru on a project which looks at impacts of urbanization on
gendered access to nutrition.

Rohit Solanki, batch of 2018-2020, is working as Deputy Manager in Business Intelligence
Unit (BIU) at Axis Bank. He was awarded with Young India Fellowship at Ashoka
University in 2021.
Liya Bensy Thomas, batch of 2015-17, is working as Senior Project Manager, Energy Saving Trust,
UK. She completed her second masters MSc in International Development: Environment, Climate
Change and Development from University of Manchester. She worked with FES and Positive
Change for Marine Life before moving to UK.
Mahika Phatriyal, batch of 2017-2019, is pursing PhD iat the Centre for the Study of
Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is working on socio-ecological
vulnerability in the Centraal Himalayan region examining the intricate social structure,
physical environment, interactions and traditional governing systems.
